Major Outage on 1-Dec-2012 [RESOLVED]

At approximately 16:15 this afternoon, a power outage in the datacentre caused a large number of our servers to be taken offline.

Engineers in the datacentre began investigating and checking the power feeds before the servers were powered up again.

Servers were powered up at about 18:15, and we began checking the servers for any problems.

Unfortunately, the checks on the database took a while to complete, and the database servers were brought back online at around 19:50.

The mailstores and mail services were brought online at about 20:10, some minor access issues were resolved shortly after.

Web services were then brought back online at about 20:20.

At present (21:45), everything appears to be running normally again.

Any incoming email during the outage should have been queued on the senders servers and is likely to be delivered in the next few hours.

We apologise for the inconvenience this outage has caused, and would like to thank you for your patience whilst we brought the servers and services back online.

Concordia Map

This map helps you see where in the country, or indeed the world, other Concordia alumni are based.

This could be useful if you are visiting an area for a holiday, on business, or completely relocating to a new place and keen to connect with others who share your experiences of Concordia!

eMentoring Platform

The eMentoring platform is designed to help alumni and graduating students connect so that alumni can advise and give guidance to Concordia alumni embarking on their chosen careers. This could be anything from a few emails or checking a CV/application, to meeting face to face or even offering work experience.

The idea is that alumni can donate as much or as little of their time as they can spare to helping those in need of a helping hand at the beginning of their careers.
